Bağdat Avenue Concept Store
A 210 m² concept store on Bağdat Avenue. A retail experience that stages the product, tells the brand and keeps the customer inside.
Bu Proje Hakkında
Set in the lively retail fabric of Bağdat Avenue, this 210 m² concept store was composed as the flagship of a local design brand. The client's expectation was a space that offers a brand experience beyond simply displaying products; one that draws the customer in and lengthens the time they spend in the store. Our design approach was built on treating the store not as a shop window but as a stage.
The store's window and entrance were carefully designed as the first step of the customer experience. We sought a balance that would catch the attention of someone passing on the avenue while reflecting the brand's sophisticated identity. The entrance area was composed as a forestage that welcomes the customer and softens the transition into the inner world of the store.
In the store, split across two floors, the product categories were arranged to tell a spatial story. The customer's journey through the store was deliberately guided; at every corner a new product group, a new atmosphere greets them. The display units were designed to give each product room to breathe rather than crowding them. This "less but better" approach to display supports the brand's premium positioning.
For the material palette, a neutral but refined ground was chosen to bring the products forward. Micro-cement surfaces, natural timber display units, matt metal details and carefully chosen lighting created a stage where the product is the hero. Colour and texture come not from the space but from the products on show.
Lighting was the most critical element of the retail design. Each display area was lit individually to show the products at the truest colour temperature and the most attractive angle. The balance between general and accent lighting steers the customer's eye towards the products. The fitting rooms were fitted with special lighting that lets the customer see themselves at their best.
The upper floor was given to a more personal shopping experience. Designed for private client services and VIP shopping, this area offers a more intimate atmosphere and a bespoke seating arrangement. This floor was composed to give the brand's loyal customers a privileged experience.
Over a four-month design and build, we resolved all the store details, from the window scheme to the display units. The cash desk, the display units and the fitting rooms were made in our own workshop. The Bağdat Avenue Concept Store became an example of how a retail space can tell the brand while staging the product.
