Cherry Tread Staircase — Eryaman
Modern interior staircase with solid cherry treads and matt black metal handrail for a twin villa.
About the project
In this twin villa in Eryaman, solid cherry cladding was applied over the existing concrete staircase skeleton. The warm red-brown tone of cherry wood brings life to the villa's neutral colour palette.
The tread thickness is 5 cm; edges are softened with a 5 mm radius corner. The underside of each tread was routed 8 mm to accept an LED strip, creating a hidden light line that illuminates the step at night. The handrail system is matt black powder-coated steel tube with horizontal iron bars — the wood warmth vs modern black metal contrast delivers exactly the feeling requested.
Rubio Monocoat Walnut tone was used as the surface finish — the cherry's natural colour is preserved while water and abrasion resistance is enhanced.
