Bu Proje Hakkında
A law office is a space where the client must feel trust the moment they step through the door. For this 320 m² office, set in a two-storey historic building in Nişantaşı, our design approach was built on that sense of trust. We aimed to reflect the character of an established and respected institution in an understated yet assured spatial language.
The entrance floor was given to client relations. The reception, the waiting lounge and the consultation rooms are on this floor. The consultation rooms were acoustically isolated to secure the privacy that legal counsel demands. While each room has its own character, all share a common material language and a dignified atmosphere.
In the choice of materials we prioritised timelessness. Dark walnut panelling, green marble details, leather upholstery and brass accessories formed a palette that points to permanence rather than fashion. These choices will keep the office looking current and respected even years from now. The herringbone parquet on the floor lends the space a classical depth.
The upper floor was given to the lawyers' workspaces and the firm's library. The shared work area was composed in a layout that supports individual focus while easing communication within the team. The law library at the heart of the office was designed both as a functional resource and as a symbolic space representing the institution's accumulated knowledge. Bespoke bookcases reaching to the ceiling lend the space the seriousness of a library.
Lighting was approached with an emphasis on working comfort. Warm, intimate light was chosen for the consultation rooms, and balanced, easy-on-the-eye light for the work areas. In interiors where daylight falls short, lighting solutions that mimic daylight were used.
The partners' offices were given to the firm's founders. These rooms were designed to hold a desk, a small meeting area and a seating corner suitable for hosting clients. Each room was personalised to its owner's working habits.
Over a six-month design and build, we gave the historic building a modern functionality while preserving its original architectural elements. High ceilings, original cornices and timber joinery were restored and brought together with a contemporary working environment. All the consultation-room tables, the library shelving and the reception desk were made in our own workshop. The Nişantaşı Law Office became a measured example of how institutional trust can be translated into space.
